Interesting Event Facts about Lehman & Associates
We have broken new ground in landmark events which include:
- Being the first to use the rooftop of Fort Denison for the Paris television TF1 incentive
- We were first to use ‘people movement’ – a form of traffic control that was then implemented for the 2000 Olympic Games
- We managed all the entertainment for the Royal Easter Show, 16000 entertainers from 1999 (The closing Show for Moore Park) till 2002 at Olympic Park
- International Law Society conference dinner on Pyrmont Bridge for 2,000
- All of the events for SICOT, the International Orthopaedics Conference including the Australiana Gala Dinner in the Dome at the Showgrounds, Olympic Park, transporting 2000 guests down the Parrammatta River from Darling Harbour to Homebush and then seating for a sit down dinner 2000 Guests with a full Australian Entertainment Showcase.
- A week of events for the US based insurance company – Securian – including a Gala Opening Ceremony in the Sydney Opera House Concert Hall and an amazing Australian event at Camden’s Belgenny Farm
- The management and production of over 31 events for the NSW Department of Health and Aging for Seniors Week
These were some key milestone events that really did set us apart.
Dreamtime
Dreamtime is Australia’s premier incentive business to business trade marketing event designed to generate interest and awareness of Australia as a quintessential business events destination. The event will provide Australian destinations and operators with the opportunity to connect with qualified buyers from around the world whilst showcasing Australia’s most outstanding incentive experiences. Lehman and Associates worked with the team at Tourism Australia and staged an unforgettable event on Tamarama Beach in Sydney. “How to make the Great Australian Sausage”. There was a high profile drag queen, the life savers and a number of actives for the guests to take part in on the beach.
SICOT World Congress
Lehman and Associates were contracted to manage and stage the social program for this Orthopaedics Conference, staged in Sydney for over 5000 delegates. The brief to Lehman and Associates was to bring rural Australia to Sydney for these delegates to have a taste of our amazing outback. Lehman and Associates staged the first ever large scale event at the Olympic Park Dome, sit down dinner for 2500 delegates, the dinner was in the round, meaning the stage was central with dioramas and performances around the perimeter making it very accessible for the guests to view and interact if they wanted to. The event started with a welcoming ceremony and a full entertainment program.
Accenture Communities Ball
The brief was to create an amazing experience for the staff, and we did!! From when guests received the invitation they knew they were heading for a journey. They all had a personalised invitation from the Sultan to attend his dinner in La Mammunia in Marrakesh. Guests arrived into a market bazaar, with snakes, market stalls, magic carpets then they were all summonsed to what was a feast with the Sultan. The entertainment program was a huge success, as mentioned by the Managing Partner.
AVIA – Incentive Awards Dinner
This was an international awards dinner that we staged in the Great Hall on the Sydney University Grounds. The dinner was for 100 guests seated, the hall looked sensational with theatrical lighting, attention to detail with the décor and the styling; it truly turned out to be a spectacular evening.
Young Endeavour Youth Scheme (YEYS) – Admiral 100 Gala Dinner
The Admiral 100 Club gives corporate organisations the opportunity to support young Australians by offering a young person the learning and development experience of a lifetime on board sail training ship “Young Endeavour”. By Corporate organisations being part of this club they also get to network with other high profile organisations in New South Wales. We worked with the YEYS and have staged Fundraising Gala Dinners where all proceeds went to items that the vessels required for replacement and maintenance. The events were staged at Garden Island making it very exclusive and a sought after event to attend. The Events were attended by the Rear Admiral and the Deputy Chief of Navy amongst other Naval Officials.
Rowland’s Company Thankyou Event
The brief was to find a city location, not far from their office that would create impact. We proposed the State Theatre, it worked back to the brief and it looked sensational. Most people would have been there to see a performance but how many would have had dinner in the foyer? The venue is already themed so all we had to do is cater for 40 guests for a formal sit down dinner. We managed all the suppliers, installed some theatrical lighting which enhanced what was already there so minimal theming, just stylish table décor was required.
Variety Children’s Christmas Party
The Variety Children’s Christmas Party is a labour of love for Glen and his team. A year in the planning, it brings some 5,000 handicapped or deprived children together just before Christmas. With a budget of around $12.80 per child, for food beverage and a Christmas Present. Glen and his colleagues create a day of fantasy and fun, thanks to the generosity of sponsors, volunteers and entertainers on the day. The team is headed up by the Ladies of Variety.
Keycorp Christmas Event
The event was staged at Luna Park in the upstairs event space. The brief was to create a lounge / club like scene where people could relax and enjoy the company and the music over looking the harbour bridge. We stylised the room with bright colours and keeping white as the predominate base colour, simple streamlined furniture, keeping it very easy flowing and comfortable for guests.
Palion
The brief was keep it simple and stylish, create areas where guests can chat and be comfortable with out the constant surrounding noise of loud entertainment. The venue had to be located in the CBD and have an outdoor area. Lehman & Associates fulfilled every part of the brief, as you can see by the IMAGES. The event was held in the Harbour Terrace room in the MCA the room was slightly branded red, their corporate colours. They were extremely happy with the turn out and the look of the event.
Australian Meat Industry Council (Australian Meat Processor Conference)
Having worked with the industry for over 21 years we are very aware of the type of event out client likes to deliver to his audience our biggest challenge each year is improving on that. The event comprises of a Sponsored Golf Event, a Deep Sea Fishing Challenge, the Official Welcome Event and then the Conference Business Sessions followed by the Prestigious AMIC Gala Dinner Awards Evening. The event attracts up to 350 delegates each year and is one of the premier conferences within the meat industry in Australia.
Mary Kay – International Incentive Dinner
The dinner was staged to reward the high achievers in Mary Kay on their great achievements throughout the year. It was staged in a private residence and we had to transformed the grounds into a number of dining areas. There was the arrival, the main entrance of the house which was lit creating an amazing light show, the main garden which was the arrival drinks area, with fabulous up lighting in all the trees and the actual dinner staged on the tennis court in a clear marquee. We created an amazing buffet to cater for the international guests, with Chefs there to ensure everyone were looked after.
Royal Agricultural Easter Show
Lehman & Associates were responsible for the closure of Moore Park grounds and the launch of the new Showgrounds at Homebush. The best visual and creative way to emotionally move this was by transporting the animals along the river on large barge like floats. We created and managed the eight sound performance stages and produced and managed all the Main Arena entertainment for a 16 day period. The focus around the entertainment program was the ‘movement of people” around the grounds at certain times which gave us as organisers more control with programming events and of course the safety of people around the site.
Chinese New Year Celebrations including Beijing Olympic Launch
We worked back to a Chinese Event company, working with them to deliver an amazing show that was staged in the Sydney Town Hall. The show included a number of International Chinese performances which the community here in Australia adored. Stage sets, signage and a very impressive technical production team were organised to produce this event.
CONFERENCES
Lehman and Associates is not your usual organiser we add in the cost effective point of difference that will ensure your delegates will be blown away. We are very flexible with the way we work as we do understand that you may have an in house team that produce your conferences however we can offer “complementing” services to that in house team. Your team may send out the invites, process the registrations, create the program and our role would be to manage the venue, ensure it has the correct technical in place with high end operators, management of catering etc. This then means we work as a team to get the conference produced both parties with pursuing their expertise to deliver an excellent conference.
ENTERTAINMENT
Glen’s background is theatre and Opera; he spent most of his time at the Victorian Arts Centre and also the Sydney Opera House managing a range of exciting projects. Glen has the ability to create a segment of entertainment or a full cabaret performance. With over 30 years in the industry, the contacts of performers and agents is a step ahead the rest. We can supply one off pieces of entertainment or a full showcase.
